National Physical Therapy Month

National Physical Therapy Month

October is National Physical Therapy month, a month set aside to recognize the professionals that work in physical therapy. The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital employs a team of 12 physical therapists and four physical therapy assistants who work with patients to improve overall function and movement.

In addition to improving function and movement therapists work to improve strength, endurance, coordination and balance. Physical therapists promote increased independence with mobility and assist with maintaining range-of-motion and skin integrity. They assess and implement wound care and manage patient equipment.

“Physical therapists at the Hospital display a strong commitment to serving the children of the community and helping them reach the best of their ability. Their eagerness to achieve excellence is motivated by their passion for serving children and families,” said Becky Vogt, vice president of Rehab and Education, The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital.
