National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week is May 6-12, and this year the theme is “4 million reasons to celebrate.” This theme was chosen to recognize the contributions and positive impact of the 4 million nurses in the United States.

We employ more than 350 nurses at The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital. The staff ranges from nurse aides, advanced unlicensed assistants, practical nurse technicians, nurse technicians, licensed practical nurses, registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses.

Dedicated to providing the best care possible, the nurses encounter each patient with love and support. “The compassion and love the team has for the patients we serve is something I am proud to be a part of, they have such a heart for what they do,” said Kyle Leemaster, director of nursing.

Where our nurses give help and hope to those who need it, they also receive something special in return. “People start here with the desire to help the children,” said Leemaster. “They stay because they find the children enrich their lives as well.”

The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital kicked off nurses week on Monday with a fun photo booth!
