Comprised by a team of multidisciplinary specialists, the Specialty Services team provides state of the art medical care and treatment plans to children throughout the region.  Whether your child is in need of rehabilitation services or has a general illness, we have a renowned medical team to service your family’s needs!

The Pediatric Physiatry Program at The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital offers comprehensive multidisciplinary rehabilitation care for children (birth through 21 years).  We offer the latest evaluation and treatment techniques to improve function and quality of life for children with a variety of diagnoses and disabilities.  This is accomplished through effective rehabilitation of the highest quality provided in a family-centered environment.

Our renowned pediatric physical medicine team offers high quality care with expertise in nerve, muscle, bone, movement disorders and management of spasticity in children.  Outpatient evaluations include a comprehensive history and physical examination, as well as an assessment of growth.  Our experts see children from the surrounding community as well as patients across the Midwest.

The Pediatric Home Ventilator Program at The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital is dedicated to supporting the care of children with diseases that require chronic mechanical ventilation.  Our goal is to safely and seamlessly transition children from the hospital to the home, improving quality of life for both your child and your family.

We work with you to optimize every aspect of your child’s environment, from selecting the most appropriate portable ventilation equipment to helping establish a medically and socially safe environment.

Appointments take place in the Pediatric Clinic located on the campus of The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital.

Outpatient evaluations include a comprehensive history and physical examination, assessment of growth, measurements of oxygenation and ventilation and other measurements of lung function.  Depending on your child’s unique needs, your visit may include time with our pediatric pulmonology doctor, a respiratory therapist, a nutritionist, and a social worker.

The Pediatric Orthopedic Clinic at The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital provides a wide range of services for medical management and treatment for rehabilitation from: developmental, congenital or neuromuscular conditions, scoliosis, orthopedic trauma and sports-related injuries.

Our outpatient pediatric orthopedic clinic provides radiology examination and casting services.  Depending on your child’s unique needs, your visit may include time with an orthopedist, physiatrist, and a physical therapist.

The Pediatric Neuropsychology Program at The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital offers the highest quality of care addressing the mental, emotional and biological aspects of brain disorders.  Our program helps patients cope with problems of learning, memory, organization and emotional control resulting from brain injuries or neurological disorders.

Our practice will work to assess your child’s:

  • Neuropsychological strengths and weaknesses
  • Cognitive and social-emotional abilities
  • Emotional and impulse control
  • Academic skills and reasoning
  • Sensory abilities and motor skills

The Outpatient Therapy Department at The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital is a multidisclipinary team highly skilled and experienced to help patients reach their full potential.

The team evaluates each patients’ abilities and creates opportunities to increase function and independence.

A patient’s family is an integral part of the team, and our therapists incorporate each patient’s goals into a specialized treatment plan carried out by the family in the home environment.

Services include: occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, nutrition therapy, equipment evaluations, serial casting, and augmentive and alternative communication (AAC) evaluations.

Our therapists ensure play is incorporated into therapy sessions to keep each patient engaged and actively participating in therapy sessions.  Activities are adjusted according to the patient’s progress, attention span and cognitive and physical abilities.

The Outpatient Therapy Department offers services related, but not limited to:

  • Adaptive Equipment Training
  • Developmental Delays
  • Feeding Therapy
  • Motor Control
  • Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
  • Splinting/Casting/Orthotics
  • Sports Injuries
  • Torticollis

Payment Sources

The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital accepts private pay, insurance and Sooner Care.  The Hospital also offers a financial assistance program.  If you have concerns about your ability to pay for your child’s care, or applying for financial assistance, please call (405) 789-6711, ext. 1202.
