The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital is monitoring everything very closely and taking steps to protect the patients with the most current recommendations being provided by the State Health Department and CDC.

If there is a potential risk of exposure to coronavirus (COVID-19) we will contact you and the steps below will need to be followed.

  • You are allowed to continue to visit your child but we do ask that it be limited to two visitors and ask you do not go to the cafeteria or vending machines, but directly to and from your child’s unit.
  • We ask no patient or patient items leave the units.

When we have test results we will update you with those results.  Should those results be positive for the COVID-19 we will take other steps as recommended by the State Health Department and CDC and will discuss those with you.

Thank you for understanding. We are diligently working to serve and protect our patients.

3/13/20

As of now, we have no current cases of COVID-19 at The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital. With that said, our leadership team is working proactively to ensure the patients, families and staff are safe and protected.

In conjunction with the CDC’s guidelines, we have chosen to put the following measures into place should a person test positive from COVID-19 community spread (the spread of an illness for which the source of infection is unknown) in Oklahoma County or an adjacent county (Logan, Lincoln, Pottawatomie, Cleveland, Canadian or Kingfisher counties):

  • Suspend entry to students
  • Suspend access for non-essential volunteers
  • Limit visitors to only two at a time and permit only parents/guardians to visit
  • Continuing to increase screening methods for all to help reduce risk

The outbreak of COVID-19 can cause fear and anxiety in adults and children. The CDC is now providing helpful resources on coping strategies during this time. Click here to review the material.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19, or questions regarding the virus please call the Oklahoma State Department of Health Call Center at 877-215-8336. Call center hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The Call Center has the capability to connect callers to Spanish speaking interpreters.

If you have a patient at The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital, please continue to work with your child’s social worker. Our Hospital’s chaplaincy program is also a great resource. You can get contact information through your social worker.
